I am finally back in the studio. So much to deal with after almost three months away from my desk. I just thought I’d rescan these images, most I’ve shown before but I’d captured them on my old iPhone, nice to take proper photos of them here in the studio while listening to Tom Waits.
I had an 11 hour journey home to Stockholm from Bangor, Northern Ireland so it was important to have something do. Luckily I had a good book (The Book Thief) and my watercolour sketching kit with me.
Yes, it was so nice to go to somebody else’s life drawing class yesterday evening. Since I’ve been running my own class I have not really been relaxed enough to draw with any real commitment.
So last night I could get my fingers dirty with charcoal dust and have a ball!
Most sketches were completed in 5 minutes on A3 paper.

I have been so busy at work and also preparing for an exhibition. Two big deadlines that are now finished with, I’m so happy to be able to relax again – post some drawings on my blog, go to life drawing and paint for fun. Freedom is heaven.

Monday evenings, a small group and I usually go to a pub in the old town after our life drawing session. It’s really nice to go through our drawings and show to each other or successes and failures.
I was in good form this evening, I think it was because I was drawing and painting all day before hand so I was already in the groove.
I met my life drawing friends at the weekend. We spent the afternoon drawing each other in the basement of an apartment block which was fun, we did this because the life drawing season after the Christmas break hasn’t got going just yet. I starts this week though.
My sketchbook is about A5 in size.
Just clearing my backlog here, these are from before Christmas. I’m looking forward to lots of figure drawing during 2017.
