Longing for the summer

I painted this watercolour in the beginning of November last year. I never took a decent picture of it as it was so dark back then and I was in rush to get it framed for the exhibition I had in early December. It was sold and I miss it really, I didn’t have time to enjoy it. They are like little children, very dear to the heart at least the ones that shine. I’ll just have to paint a replacement so I can forget it, larger maybe this time.
The watercolour was painted after my course with Chien Chung-Wei, it shows I think, my brushwork is more daring and the composition is well thought through.

Drawing friends

I met my life drawing friends at the weekend. We spent the afternoon drawing each other in the basement of an apartment block which was fun, we did this because the life drawing season after the Christmas break hasn’t got going just yet. I starts this week though.

My sketchbook is about A5 in size.

The town hall revisited

Ok, so I’m getting better at posting on my blog! … At least that is the way it feels. I’ll try my best to be this good all year long if I can. I feel good when I publish a drawing or a watercolour online, it means that the project is finished and it is time to move on to the next one.
This watercolour is from a photograph I took during the summer months, I’m pleased with it, some more contrasts maybe but I’m fine with it. It looks better in reality, it is so hard to capture a watercolour with an iPhone when it has subtle shades.

A watercolour at last

I haven’t published my watercolours for a while and my gallery site is 6 months without being updated. It’s time for me to get my act together. Here is a painting that I completed yesterday.  More will be published soon.
The painting is titled, “It’s quiet in the archipelago during the winter”. 29 x 23 cm

Just clearing my backlog here, these are from before Christmas. I’m looking forward to lots of figure drawing during 2017.

Happy New Year!

I had to work through Christmas, no time for art. I’ve started painting again now after quite a break. It’s crazy how fast time passes by, I should wear my watch more often. To get the ball rolling again in 2017 I shall publish some life drawings that I didn’t have time to show before Christmas. I am looking forward to the coming year, I have a lot of dreams I want to fulfil.

My exhibition – a small success

I am happy with my exhibition so far. The opening day is when one sells the most, like my first exhibition in April it was mostly friends who bought and I am so happy they did. Next year the challenge will be to sell to strangers outside of my circle, I have a summer show that will be a true test as I am not the organiser of the event. I’ve started painting for that exhibition already as I have lots of free time right now at my current exhibition.
