This is watercolour I did in the old streets of Paimpol, Brittany. I come here every year and I never get tired of the place. Panted on the 17th of August, 23 x 31 cm on Arches rough.

I am not very good at taking commissions but I am trying to be more professional about it. I have to accept that people will want to order watercolours that are personal to them and not me. This painting of a house in Ploubazlanec in Brittany, France is a good example. It is not my dream house but it is special to my client who ordered it.
You can also see my new studio layout. I have have placed a screen over my desk which makes sketching from photographic references much easier as it is right in front of me now.
Northern Ireland may not be the best place on the planet for compassion for other beliefs or cultures but they do have beautiful coastlines thankfully. This sketch was painted in a new sketchbook that has Saunders 300g, I think it’s bound by the art store where I bought it. I really like it. 🙂
I have gotten out of the habit of blogging, I have to admit I am more focused on just painting. Google doesn’t seem to support Blogger anymore so I’m thinking of moving to WordPress in the future. I would like to post more, just spontaneously putting things on the blog. Google doesn’t have an app for Blogger anymore on iPhones, that’s sad.
The painting of Swedish summer was started during a lunch break and finished in the evening.
I had a wonderful day at Edsvik’s watercolour exhibition where I have two paintings on view. I met a lot of new watercolourists plus a few heroes which was nice. The exhibition continues until the 28th August.
