Extremely good morphing of female portraits through the ages …
Category: Video
I stumbled over these videos while searching the internet. I was looking for inspirational figure painting and portraiture in watercolour. Michael Holter is very similar to Ted Nutall. I hope my style matures to be more free and loose. Saying that there is a lot to learn from Michael and Ted and their approach to portraiture in watercolour.
This is a must see video if you enjoy the work of any of these watercolouring greats, Joseph Zbukvic, Herman Pekel and Alvaro Castagnet. I owe at lot of what I’ve learned to these artists and their wonderful DVDs.
Joseph Zbukvic has a new video produced by APV Films. Joseph is one of a small group of watercolour artists that I draw inspiration and knowledge from, this new video is a treat for me!
This is the best gallery of Joseph’s work that I’ve seen on the internet.
This animation consists of 12 597 handmade aquarelle paintings, each painting is approximately 1,5*3cm in size. Together they form Anders Ramsell’s 35 minute long paraphrase on the motion picture Blade Runner (1982) by Ridley Scott.
I think Lars Lerin is one of the more interesting Watercolourists here in Sweden. Here is a playlist containing several films about him. I haven’t visited his museum yet but I will do one of these days.
Lars Lerin – Kanal 12 i Varmland
Lars Lerin is probably the most interesting and talented watercolourist living in Sweden today. Here are three interviews about Lars and his work. The videos are in Swedish unfortunately. You can see his paintings here is you are not familiar with his work. He doesn’t seem to have a web-gallery which is a pity. There is a documentary I would like to see called, “För dig naken”, it was filmed by his niece, Sara Bross and was released in 2012.
