Lunchtime watercolour

I started this lunchtime watercolour last week, I didn’t finish it during my break so I spent one more hour on the painting yesterday morning. I am testing to see if I can cope with getting up one hour earlier at the moment. I started yesterday so it’s early days. I’m too tired in the evenings after a full-day’s work to feel inspired to paint, getting up earlier feels better, it’s tough but better, if you know what I mean. It’s not easy being an artist but it’s very rewarding!

Fantastic wet in wet sky , great sea color and waves, and nice spots of whites. Did you use chinesse white ?. And please have a rest, or you´ll get tired too soon.

The whites on the sea are a mixture of original paper, white gouache and the scarping of my nail on the damp surface.
I will not get tired just yet, today at lunch I painted a nice horse, a miniature painting, I'll publish it tomorrow. Tonight I go to Life Drawing. Mornings paint for an hour, Saturday – more Life Drawing, Sunday – Urban Sketchers in the afternoon followed by Figure Painting in the Evening. That's not a lot, is it?! 😉

Where do you find energy enougth to do such a lot of things? I just go twice in a week to life drawing sessions and if I´m not very tired paint a couple hours in the week end. Well now i know why you are so good : talented and hard worker the perfect mix.

I do get tired, especially in the Autumn. I just find art to be so much fun and I just want to do it all the time. Tonight, I'll be going to bed early, eBook in hand. I'm aware that I need to recharge the batteries every few days.
