After a couple of days sketching at the Central Train Station here in Stockholm I felt ready to do my first watercolour sketch for 2014. I’m happy enough with the result, I spent two hours on it over a two day period. I used too much gouache for highlighting but as it’s just a sketch I really don’t mind, I’d prefer to use less of course.
I am getting up one hour earlier this week so that I have an hour to sketch before going to work. It is not as hard as I thought it would be. Now, I’ve found an extra hour each day to sketch and paint which makes me happy.

Incredible, you are stremely disciplinate guy an hour earlier to paint , and what a result. Congratulations a good job, though I like best the result in the first day, but this is the first time Iǘe heard you saying you are happy with the results.
I struggled with the tonal balance of the composition. The Melbourne artists and teachers, Joseph Zbukvic, Alvaro Castagnet and Herman Pekel are very good with tonal values. I am looking at my Alvaro DVDs right now as he is so good at doing interiors. As usual, I'm learning all the time and having fun doing it.
I worked from home today so no visit to the train station but tomorrow I'll be there, coffee in one hand and pencil in the other 🙂
